SAD MOUTH CORNERS

SAD MOUTH CORNERS

What are they?

Marionette lines, also known as sad mouth lines, are facial creases that run from the corner of your mouth down to your chin. They can develop due to genes, ageing or smoking and give the mouth a downward appearance, often making it seem that we are always grumpy or tired.

RESTORE FACIAL HARMONY

As we age, our skin loses collagen and fat, resulting in a loss of skin elasticity and volume that causes our skin to sag. This ageing process deepens the marionette lines. The downturn of the corners of the mouth created by this can be corrected by creating a slight upturn.

    FAQ

Which treatment is right for me?

Dependent on the severity of the sad mouth corners that need treating and your skin condition there may be one option better for you than the other. An initial consultation with our doctors will help us decided which treatment is more suited to you. However, a combination of treatments can provide exceptional results.

Which dermal fillers do you use?

At River Aesthetics we use Ellansé® and Perfectha®.

    What are Thread Lifts?

Our non-surgical Thread Lifts enable a more youthful and refreshed appearance for both men & women, with no need for surgery and a quick recovery time! Dissolvable threads are inserted under the skin using a fine needle – without the need for incisions – to elevate the sagging tissue and lift problem areas. Once the threads are in place, your body starts to produce new bundles of collagen around each thread, which over time gradually plump out the skin and give an incredible rejuvenating effect.

River Aesthetics is one of the UK’s top thread lifting clinics, where we empower our patients to age well by achieving beautiful, natural-looking results.

What is a Silhouette Soft Lift?

This innovative 30-minute non-surgical treatment involves suturing sagging skin on the face with extremely fine Silhouette Soft® absorbable threads, which are dotted with bi-directional cones, are inserted via needle beneath the subcutaneous layer of fat in the face and pulled tight to lift the sagging skin.

What is a PDO Thread Lift?

Made from Polydioxanone (PDO), the same material used for medical stitches which dissolve naturally in the body over time, the smooth sutures are inserted via needle beneath the subcutaneous layer of fat in the face and pulled tight to instantly lift the sagging skin.

    Is there any downtime?

The most common side effects for dermal fillers are bruising and swelling. Most swelling should settle within 48 hours however at River Aesthetics we use a cannula technique minimising which minimises the downtime.

Downtime after a thread lift treatment is minimal. However, as with all cosmetic procedures, you may experience some very slight bruising or swelling in the days following the procedure and some mild tension in the areas that have been elevated. During the first two weeks after treatment, you should not undergo dental surgery and you must avoid facial and beauty treatments. We recommend that you avoid any impact exercise for two weeks after the treatment and advise you to sleep on your back and slightly elevated during that time.
