As it’s National Cleanse Your Skin Week we decided to treat you to some expert River Tips in this weeks blog. Not only have we got the River Aesthetics medical team telling us which skincare products they couldn’t live without, but Gemma, our fabulous aesthetics practitioner, will be giving you her top tips on how to properly cleanse you skin.

So we asked our team of experts, what skincare product could they not live without?

With so many skincare products on the market it is confusing to work out what you put on, when to put it on and why you put it on. So with this in mind here are Gemma’s top tips for the perfect cleansing regime:

Morning:

  1. Cleanse the skin to remove any excess oil and unclog the pores.
  2. Apply your vitamin C serum to brighten dull, sun-damaged skin. It is also a powerful anti-oxidant that fights free radicals that could cause future signs of ageing.
  3. Hydrate the skin to provide long lasting moisture.
  4. Use eye cream if you suffer from dark circles to brighten dark circles and reduce fine lines.
  5. Apply your SPF for the day to protect your skin from sun rays that cause ageing. Did you know UV rays are responsible for 80% of your ageing.

Evening:

  1. Cleanse the skin to remove any excess oil and unclog the pores.
  2. Apply retinol to the skin to increase cell turnover for a smoother and even complexion.
  3. Hydrate the skin to provide long lasting moisture.
