What is non-surgical chin augmentation treatment?
Non-surgical chin augmentation is a quick, safe and effective non-invasive treatment.
It uses a dermal filler to reshape and contour the chin so that it has a natural, aesthetic appearance.
Who is a good candidate for non-surgical chin augmentation?
Anyone who is looking for an improvement in the balance of their face by augmenting the size and shape of their chin may be a suitable candidate for chin augmentation, whether this is due to chin deformity from birth or from injury, or being dissatisfied with having the appearance of a small or weak chin.
The non-surgical chin augmentation procedure is the preferred option for patients who can achieve significant improvement without the pain, risk and lengthy recovery time associated with surgery.
How is the treatment performed?
Initial consultation will determine the aims of treatment, make note of any associated abnormalities or asymmetry and plan the optimum chin-shapng procedure to achieve the ideal result in each patient.
The treatment is carried out in the clinic, and takes about 30 minutes. We will use one of two brands of dermal filler – Voluma or Subskin – which is injected into the chin to improve its shape, profile, projection and symmetry.
What are the side-effects or risks – will it be painful or cause bruising?
There should be minimal discomfort during the treatment itself. You may experience tenderness around your chin area for the first 3 to 5 days after the treatment, and any slight swelling or bruising should resolve within one week.
When will I be able to return to normal activities after non-surgical chin augmentation?
We do advise you to restrict your activities for 48 hours following the treatment. Normal activities can be resumed thereafter.
How soon will results be seen?
Improvement in chin shape and projection will be seen immediately following the treatment.
How long will the results last?
Voluma dermal filler provides improvement in chin shape for approximately 12 months. We recommend you have repeat treatments every 12 to 18 months to maintain the desired shape.
